Hans Larsson is an abstract
action painter. His style is unpredictable and innovative
with a great sense of color matching. He works large scale
formats with mixed media technique and uses materials as
sand, coffee, blood, wood and clay. The sizes of his paintings
are usually 70x50 inches and up, and are released in series
of six to ten paintings.
Hans started painting in the mid-eighties to, as he self
puts it, “survive. I can’t live without it; my
life would look like a car crash without it.” Hans
says that his inspiration comes from objects that he encounters
and collects on his journey, but there are reflections of
painters as Schnabel, Rauschenberg and Barceló in
his work.
Since Hans did his first one man show in 1993
he has done fourteen shows which have been greatly appreciated
by press
and critics in Sweden. His latest show in Sweden, Atuka
received large press coverage during a show at Stockholm
Central Station.
